Corbett Community Library October Newsletter

October Newsletter

As the seasons shift this also brings about change and hopefully new opportunities. On this note we are delighted to announce that we have a super cute coffee hut outside that will be opening soon (hopefully by 8th Oct), daily and run by Mont58coffee. Learn more about this and a job opportunity further down.

October is a crazy busy month here at the library with events and activities in abundance! It is Black History Month and with this brings two events. We are also hosting 8 artists for the Catford Arts Trail, we have a Wellness Weekender and other one-off activities. Do read on to make sure you don’t miss out…

Mont58 Coffee

Mont58 is an award-winning craft roastery, based in South-East London, founded by husband-and-wife team Shai and Maya. With a strong local and sustainable ethos, their focus is on serving amazing coffee and home brewing beans in a friendly and relaxed setting. They will be hiring a new barista to serve customers in their cute coffee hut situated outside the library, which will open as soon as we’ve sorted the electricity supply! We hope you agree this is a very exciting project and will plug a gap in the market with no local coffee shop in place,. We also hope it will enhance the customer experience creating a real community hub!

If you are interested in applying for the Barista role (experience desired, but not essential), please get in touch for the JD here Mont58 Coffee Maya

FORTHCOMING EVENTS

Don’t forget to book your place for the afternoon retreat, a great chance to pamper yourself right on your doorstep. You will take home a beautiful flower arrangement made by you and our special welcome bag, full of little surprises!!!! Charity Art Auction - 16th Nov

We already have so many great pieces of artwork donated by local artists for this, we are very excited! Last year we were lucky enough to be donated over 40 pieces of original artwork and a couple of pre-loved pieces from residents. You can still donate either until 16th October 2024 just get in touch with our art coordinator: [email protected]

Don’t forget to book your tickets for the opportunity to buy your very own piece of original artwork; painting, photograph, print, glass or pottery. You can also enjoy the unique experience of an auction whilst sipping a glass of wine! To book click here www.ticketsource.co.uk/corbett-community-library

This is a fundraising event. All monies raised from the art auction will help sustain our community library and increase visual arts provision in the community as well as raise the profile of local artists.

CATFORD ARTS TRAIL 2024

This annual event is coming to us again the weekend of 12/13th October. Please visit us to see 8 local artists exhibit their works. It should be really interesting and if you’re lucky you’ll be able to enjoy a coffee and cake from our new coffee hut!
